Book Railway, Bus and Air Tickets through Rupay prepaid debit card

IRCTC in collaboration with Union Bank of India and National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) launched Rupay Prepaid debit card.

Across the country traveling passengers can now book Railway, Bus, Air Tickets, do shopping and pay service bill using Rupay prepaid card.

For this purpose the user need to login to traveling companies websites as well as any other items that be purchased online at the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said in a statement.
The cards made available from UBI offices or through IRCTC online. At first the services permitted for booking tickets and later facilitates for shopping and bill payments.

Through this card, ATM services, point-of-sale terminals, e-commerce services users can receive. Foreign cards like Visa and Master card network offer a debit/credit card for payment gateway service. NPCI issued RBI promoted Rupay card alternative to Visa and Master card in the last year.

UBI CMD Arun Tiwari said, ‘The card holder will get free one lakh insurance coverage under benefits with attractive reward points on each purchase’.

The loading partial limit one card Rs.10000 with full Know Your Customer (KYC) details Rs.50000 loading limit can have. For first six months purchasing of train tickets first five transactions per card every month will be free and no transaction charges levied to customers.

After freebies usage Rs.10 per ticket per each transaction or booking a ticket charged through the IRCTC portal. 

Presently 14 crore Rupay cards are available across the country. Nearly 30 thousand online merchants like, Flipkart, Snapdeal, IRCTC, Jet Airways, LIC, BookMyShow, HomeShop18 etc., looking forward to offer services through Rupay card.
