Cine workers go on strike, telugu film industry employees federation Workers from 24 departments staged an agitation in front of the Film Chamber demanding an increase in wages.
As part of this, the cine workers did not even take part in the shooting. In addition, buses carrying junior artists were stopped by members of the federation. With this, the shooting of Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films, which were celebrating more than 20 shootings in and around Hyderabad, came to a halt.
It is learned that the Federation's working committee members warned the Film Chamber and the Producers' Council that a decision on the pay hike should be taken soon or else it would not be in their hands.
However, Kolli Ramakrishna, the new president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, said that they had no prior information on this. He said he had not received any strike notice from the federation and that workers should be given 15 days' notice if they want to strike.
However, Ramakrishna said that the producers could start shooting as usual as the federation had not given any advance notice.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Film Workers has condemned President Ramakrishna's remarks. On the 6th of this month the members of the Federation presented their letter to the media stating that they had informed the Chamber.
It appears to have written a letter to the Film Chamber confirming it on the 6th of this month. It is also worth noting that it was also adopted by the Chamber.
The letter states that 13 months have passed since the end of the pay revision deadline and that it has been decided that none of the workers will attend the shootings after 15 days unless the wages are revised immediately.
The Film Employees Federation also said in a statement that it would take immediate action on the issue.
