Accompanied by repeated rains and snowfall in Uttarakhand, the yearly ‘Char Dham Yatra’ will begin today and on the auspicious day of ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri opened.
Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and senior official visited Kedarnath, Badrinath and other areas confirmed the arrangements for the pilgrimage. He said that all the necessary measures have been taken for smooth passage of the yatra and also launched a campaign to boost confidence of tourism.
Gates of Gangotri opened at 12:30pm and Yamunotri at 11:30 am today, said officials. Whereas gates of Kedarnath and Badrinath to be opened at 8:30 am on April 24th and 5:15 am on 26th April respectively.
