Andhrapradesh State government is proposed to install an 125 feet tall Ambedkar statue at Old Amaravati. 
To develop heritage city old Amaravathi into an important tourism/research center AP government planned to establish an Ambedkar memorial park, international research center, library, Buddhist center, study cirlce and 125 fee-tall statue on the banks of Krishan river at Old Amaravati.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhrapradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed social welfare deputy director Mallikarjuna Rao to pacify the landowners and they primarily agreed to give the lands where the government now proposed Ambedkar memorial park.

The Dalit organizations are welcomed the decision of Andhrapradesh government about establishing an Ambedkar memorial park, international research centre, library, Buddhist center, study circle and 125 feet tall statue on the banks of Krishna river at Old Amaravati.
