Finance Ministry has given instructions to the banks and post offices to ensure proper distribution of all denomination notes.
Banks have also been especially advised to ensure the availability and distribution of small denomination currency notes.
We have been directed to all the banks to increase the withdrawal limit from Rs.2000 to 2500 per day and make necessary arrangements for mobile banking vans to help major hospitals for emergency banking transactions, said Finance ministry.
Banks have also been advised to increase exchange limit over the counter from existing Rs.4000 to Rs.4500.
The existing Weekly withdrawal limit of Rs.20,000 has been increased to Rs.24000 limit. However, the limit of Rs.10,000 from bank accounts per day removed.
